Fred Dakota is in jail. On Wednesday October 29, 1997 Fred and his sons
Tribal Judge Brad Dakota and Tribal Police officer Dale Dakota along with
Tribal Police officer LaPlam were stopped for poaching by an off duty deputy.
After being questioned the four men were later released with Fred &
Brad Dakota being charged with shooting deer in the off season and trespassing.
Fred Dakota, being a convicted felon is not allowed to carry or use a weapon.
So, on Thursday around 7:30pm he was arrested at his home by federal marshals
and his bail bond revoked . Fred is being held in the Marquette County Jail
until his sentencing on November 5, 1997 at 8:00 am in the Marquette County
Federal Courthouse.
